Life is messy. Living and Dying, Laughing and Crying, Sinning and Living Righteous lives, Learning and Instructing, Loving Friends and Enemies alike (or at least attempting to). God calls us to live among people accompanied by their messes and to make the world a better place through our living. Join me as I work to clear away my mess. Everyone's welcome because we all have messes. Some are just more obvious than others.

Catching Up

Last week, I didn't go grocery shopping, wanting to save the money and challenging myself to fix meals out of the pantry. This week, I feel like I'm making up for lost time as I've had another day out in the trenches catching some deals and just getting things done that have needed done.

This morning, we made it to my parent's house to water the garden, to the bank, to K-Mart (for 12 free boxes of crackers), to Schnuck's for the pepperoni that I forgot last night, and to Wal-Mart for some misc things that we needed. This evening as a family, we made our monthly trek to Sam's.

Since I've begun couponing, I have found that Sam's/Wal-mart are the two places where I've most drastically slashed my budget, from $350/month before to $100/month now. This is mostly because of CVS and Walgreen's where I can get almost all of my toiletries for free.

Ian and Jordan also got to run through the sprinkler today, which they absolutely loved. I'm glad they had a chance to enjoy the water.

Tomorrow, we plan a relaxing day at home.
